San Jose Turfgrass Education Initiative

The San Jose Turfgrass Education Initiative (SJTEI) is a community outreach program serving youth in communities throughout San Jose. The SJTEI program offers middle and high school students opportunities to explore the turfgrass and landscape industry, environmental science, and the game of golf through:

Study Tours take place at San Jose Muni, Los Lagos and Rancho Del Pueblo in San Jose and environmental science-related venues. Study Tours are funded by SJTEI affording public and charter school students in San Jose the opportunity to learn about environmental science, agronomy, and the game of golf at little to no cost. Middle school and high school classes in San Jose are encouraged to contact SJTEI to discuss organizing a Study Tour.
