Our Mission is to increase the enjoyment of the game of golf through a total coaching program.

Our Mission is to increase the enjoyment of the game of golf through a total coaching program. This program includes instruction on the golf swing, short game, club fitting, course management, practice techniques, rules and etiquette. The focus of our instruction is based on the individual's goals and ability level, while adhering to the proper fundamentals of golf. This approach emphasizes long-term improvement with short-term results and success.

Our Professional Staff provides instruction to first help the golfer understand why their golf ball is going where it is, and then to provide them with the knowledge to ultimately diagnose and correct their own swing.

Video Instruction Rooms

San Jose Municipal GC offers 2 indoor studios that allow the opportunity to hit balls out to the driving range and to monitor ball flight. The indoor studios give you the ability to improve your game year round, rain or shine.

We utilize state-of-the art video equipment to capture and analyze swings. This allows our staff to identify strengths and weaknesses quickly and helps you understand the cause and affect of your golf swing. By combining video analysis and ball flight, you will see improvements on the computer and on your score card.

Meet Your Instructors

Individual lessons can either be 45 minutes or one hour in length. The Professional Staff will identify strengths and weaknesses, work with the student on a game improvement program and recommend a lesson package.

He is also actively involved with The First Tee of Silicon Valley, contributing to the development of golf programs that simplify swing techniques for learners.

Joanne Lee is an accomplished golf instructor with over 13 years of experience, combining her extensive playing background with a passion for teaching. As a former competitive golfer, some highlights of her accomplishments are three High School CCS Championships, a High School State Champion title, and recognition as a three-time AJGA All-American. Joanne has also competed in four U.S. Junior Girls Championships, six U.S. Women's Amateur Championships, and three U.S. Women's Open Championships, while setting records as a four-time All-American at USC and UC Berkeley, she set records for the lowest round, single-season scoring average, and career lowest scoring average for the Bears. As an instructor, her focus is on helping golfers of all levels, from beginners to professionals, make strategic decisions on the course, set achievable goals, and build a clear path to success. Whether in group classes, junior camps, or private lessons, Joanne’s approach is tailored to each student’s needs, making the game both fun and rewarding as they work toward hitting their milestones.
